Corporation tax returns prepared and filed on time for a fixed fee

Corporation tax returns are the thing most directors only think about when the bill lands and nobody has explained the number. We compute yours alongside your year-end accounts and tell you what is due, and when.

The usual worry is that the figure is higher than it needs to be, or that a question about it will show up on next month’s invoice. Our fee is agreed in writing before we start, calls are never charged for, and tax investigation cover is included free for every client.

In one lineSupreme Consultants is an AAT licensed accountancy practice in Cardiff Bay that prepares and files corporation tax returns for limited companies across South Wales. Work is priced as a fixed monthly fee agreed in advance, with calls and meetings never billed. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client.

Is your corporation tax in good hands? Three questions.

Answer by button, no email needed.

Question 1 of 3

Does your accountant reply the same working day?

What you get

Tax investigation cover at no extra cost

We cover it ourselves for every client rather than selling it as an add-on. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won.

The number explained before it is due

You see the computation and the payment date while there is still time to plan for it. No bill arrives that nobody talked through with you.

Reliefs you are actually entitled to, claimed

We know the Welsh rules too. One Cardiff retail franchisee was still paying full business rates through Covid because the council required an application, and spotting it recovered £10,000.

What directors tell us before they move

These are the three things we hear most often about corporation tax.

  • “I got a bill for corporation tax and I still do not know how they arrived at the figure.”

He paid it in full and only found out later that two reliefs had been left off the computation.

  • “My accounts were filed nine months after year end, so the tax bill was a complete surprise.”

There was no time left to plan the payment, so it came off the money set aside for a second van.

  • “I emailed about my corporation tax in March and heard back in April.”

By then the filing window had tightened and a small question had turned into a late filing penalty.

  • What changes once we take it on

Your accounts and your corporation tax return are prepared together, so one set of figures drives both. We diarise the filing date and the payment date for the year ahead and tell you the number early. When you want to ask about it, you ring us and it costs nothing.

How this compares with the usual arrangement

Plenty of accountants do solid work on a different model to ours.

A typical year-end arrangement

Accounts and tax return filed close to the deadline

Phone calls and emails billed by the hour

Investigation cover offered as a paid add-on

Fee confirmed once the work is done

With Supreme Consultants

Filing and payment dates diarised for the year ahead

Calls, meetings and emails never charged for

Tax investigation cover included free for every client

Fixed fee agreed in writing before we start

Eight questions about your current set-up

Work through these before your next filing date.

  • Do you know your corporation tax payment date without looking it up?

It falls nine months and a day after your year end, and it comes before the return is due.

  • Were your last accounts filed with months to spare?

Early filing gives you time to plan the payment rather than scramble for it.

  • Did anyone talk you through the computation?

You should be able to see how the profit figure became the tax figure.

  • Have capital allowances been claimed on everything you bought?

Vans, equipment and fit-out costs are the ones most often left off.

  • Is your bookkeeping finished before year end work starts?

Tidy records are what keep the computation accurate and the fee predictable.

  • Do you get charged for a ten minute phone call?

If you do, you will sit on questions, and that is usually where money is lost.

  • Is tax investigation cover already included in what you pay?

We cover it ourselves for every client at no extra cost.

  • Do you know how much you are taking as salary and how much as dividends?

The split changes what the company pays and what you pay personally.

What we do for your corporation tax

The return, the computation and the filing, handled with your accounts.

All Services
CT600 prepared and filed
We compute the liability and file the return with HMRC inside the window. You get the figure and the payment date in plain terms.
Reliefs and allowances claimed
Capital allowances, allowable costs and the reliefs your company qualifies for, checked against what you actually spent during the year.
Accounts filed alongside
Year-end accounts and the tax return are prepared from one set of figures, then filed with Companies House and HMRC.
HMRC letters answered
If a check or a query lands, we deal with it as your agent. Investigation cover is included free for every client.
Profit extraction planned
We talk through salary versus dividends so the company and you are both taxed sensibly, before the year closes rather than after.

What a proper review of your HMRC record turns up

A limited company client came to us owing HMRC and paying monthly against a figure nobody had questioned. We were appointed as agent, pulled the full record and went through the returns behind it.

Clients described by type. Names withheld.

How it was found
We reviewed the filed returns, the payments on account and the penalties sitting on the account.
What happened
The liability was corrected, penalties were appealed and the company knew exactly what it owed.

I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!

How switching to us works

Most of it happens without you doing much beyond saying yes.

  1. Before you join

    A free introductory chat

Tell us where things stand with your accounts and your last corporation tax return. If we cannot genuinely help, we will say so.

  2. Week one

Your fee agreed and records moved

We complete your ID checks, confirm the fixed fee in writing and write to your current accountant for professional clearance. You avoid that conversation.

  3. First month

    Your HMRC record reviewed

We are appointed as your agent and go through past accounts, returns and HMRC records. This is where missed reliefs and appealable penalties turn up.

  4. By ninety days

    Every deadline mapped for you

Accounts, corporation tax, VAT, payroll and self assessment all diarised. We also talk through salary versus dividends so you keep more of what the company earns.

Who we are not right for

We do not take on CIS construction subcontractors.

We do not act for charities.

We do not take on businesses already late into an HMRC investigation.

If none of those describe you, run the check and we will tell you where you stand.

Corporation tax returns: questions people ask

How much do corporation tax returns cost?

We work on a fixed fee agreed in writing before we start, quoted after a free introductory chat. It depends on turnover, VAT registration, transaction volume, payroll headcount and how tidy your records are. Most limited company clients take accounts, corporation tax, VAT, bookkeeping and payroll together on one monthly fee. Calls, meetings and emails are never charged for.

Can you take over my corporation tax return from my current accountant?

Yes. We write to them for professional clearance and your records come straight to us, so you never have to raise it yourself. We get authorised as your agent with HMRC and Companies House, handle Companies House ID verification where it is needed at no charge, and include the first month and your Xero migration free.

What happens if HMRC checks my corporation tax return?

We deal with HMRC as your agent and handle the correspondence, the records they ask for and the responses. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client rather than sold as an add-on. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won. Tell us the day the letter arrives, because early is when we can change most.

Do I have to change accounting software to work with you?

No. We work with what you already use. If you want to move to Xero we migrate you free as part of switching, and we will set up your bookkeeping properly while we are in there. If your records are a box of receipts and bank statements, we have rebuilt worse.

When is my corporation tax return due?

The payment is due nine months and one day after your accounting period ends, and the return itself is due twelve months after. The payment deadline arrives first, which catches directors out. We diarise both dates for the year ahead and file early so you know the figure in time to plan for it.

Do you work with companies outside Cardiff?

Yes. More than 90% of our clients are across South Wales, including Newport, Swansea, Caerphilly, Port Talbot and Barry, plus Bristol over the bridge. We also act for companies elsewhere in the UK. You can work with us fully remotely, in person at Titan House in Cardiff Bay, or a mix of the two.
