Year-end accounts filed on time, for a fee agreed up front

Year-end accounts are the job most owners only hear about once a year, usually when the filing date is weeks away and the records are still in a folder nobody has opened.

Plenty of firms send the accounts over nine months after your year end, then bill for the call that follows. We agree the fee in writing before we start and reply the same working day. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client.

In one lineSupreme Consultants is an AAT licensed accountancy practice at Titan House in Cardiff Bay that prepares and files year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships across South Wales. Fees are fixed and agreed before work starts, calls and meetings are never billed, and tax investigation cover is included free.

Are your year-end accounts in good hands? Three questions.

Answer by button and see where you stand. We do not ask for your email.

Question 1 of 3

Does your accountant reply the same working day?

What you get

Tax investigation cover at no charge

Every client has it, free, because we cover it ourselves. Every HMRC investigation we have handled, we have won.

A fee you know before we start

The figure is agreed in writing up front. Calls, meetings and emails are never added to it.

Numbers while you can still use them

We work through the year, so your accounts land in time to change how you pay yourself before the tax is due.

What owners tell us when they call

These are the three lines we hear most often about year-end accounts.

  • “My accounts turned up nine months after my year end and the corporation tax bill was already due.”

There was no time left to plan anything, so the bill was simply paid as it stood.

  • “I emailed in March asking a quick question and heard nothing back until April.”

The decision got made without an answer, and it cost more than the question would have.

  • “I stopped ringing my accountant because every call came back on the invoice.”

A year of small questions went unasked, and two reliefs were missed in the accounts.

  • What changes once we take it on

Your records come to us through the year rather than in one box in month eleven. We prepare the accounts and the corporation tax together, and you see the figures in time to act on them. Ring us whenever you like and it costs nothing.

How this compares with an accountant you hear from once a year

Both arrangements end with filed accounts. What differs is when you see them and what you pay for asking.

The once-a-year arrangement

You send a year of records in one go after the year end

Accounts arrive close to the filing deadline

A call or an email can appear on the invoice

The fee is confirmed once the work is done

With Supreme Consultants

Records come to us through the year, in whatever state they are in

Accounts are done in time to change what you pay yourself

Calls, meetings and emails are never billed

The fee is agreed in writing before we start

Eight questions about your year-end set-up

Answer these honestly and you will know whether your accounts are being handled or just filed.

  • Do you know your filing date without looking it up?

If you do not, nobody has mapped your year for you.

  • Did last year’s accounts reach you more than six months after your year end?

That is too late to change anything about the tax.

  • Do you know your fee for this year in writing?

A fee agreed afterwards is a fee you cannot plan around.

  • Have you avoided ringing your accountant because of the cost?

Unasked questions are where most money quietly leaks.

  • Is your bookkeeping up to date to within a month?

Current records are what make year-end accounts quick and cheap to produce.

  • Were the reliefs you claimed explained to you?

You should be able to say why each one applies to your business.

  • Would someone handle an HMRC check without a separate invoice?

With us that cover is included free for every client.

  • Has anyone discussed salary and dividends with you this year?

That conversation belongs before the year end, not after it.

What we do for your year-end accounts

We prepare the accounts, file them, and deal with the tax that comes with them.

All Services
Statutory accounts prepared
Full accounts drawn up from your records and filed at Companies House before your date. Sole trader and partnership accounts are prepared the same way.
Corporation tax alongside
The computation and CT600 are done with the accounts, with the reliefs you are actually entitled to claimed.
Records brought up to date
If the bookkeeping has slipped or the records are gone, we rebuild them. Overdue filings get caught up too.
Director’s self assessment
Most limited company clients have us handle their personal return alongside the company accounts, on the same fixed fee.
HMRC letters answered
If a check or a query arrives, we reply to it. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client.

What a question you are not billed for can be worth

A Cardiff convenience store franchisee came to us for year-end accounts and corporation tax. He was still paying full business rates through Covid, because Cardiff Council required an application and nobody had told him.

Clients described by type. Names withheld.

£10,000in business rates relief he should never have been paying
How it was found
We spotted it in the first meeting, inside the fixed fee he had already agreed.
What happened
The fee stayed exactly where it was and the money went back to him.

I just want to say a big thank you to Mudassir for all the advice, guidance and help he has provided whilst dealing with my accounts and tax returns. From start to finish the service has been excellent and professional. Unlike other accountancy firms they provide a friendly personalised service, I was very clear on the process and was even provided with additional guidance where needed. Highly recommended!

How switching to us works

We have done this for over 100 clients since 2022, and from your side it is mostly saying yes.

  1. Before you join

    A free introductory chat

Tell us where things stand and when your year end falls. If we are not the right fit, we will say so.

  2. Week one

    ID checks and fee agreed

We agree your fixed fee in writing and write to your current accountant for your records. You avoid that conversation.

  3. First month

    Past accounts reviewed properly

We go through your old accounts, returns and HMRC record. This is where missed reliefs and appealable penalties usually turn up.

  4. By ninety days

    Deadlines mapped and salary planned

Accounts, corporation tax, VAT and payroll are all diarised. We talk through salary and dividends so your next year end is decided in advance.

Who we are not right for

We do not act for CIS construction subcontractors.

We do not take on charities.

We cannot take on a business that is already late in an HMRC investigation.

If none of those describe you, start the check and we will tell you what your year end would look like with us.

Year-end accounts: questions people ask

How much do year-end accounts cost?

You pay one fixed fee agreed in writing before any work starts. It depends on your turnover, whether you are VAT registered, how many transactions and payroll staff you have, and the state of your records. We quote after the introductory chat rather than guess. Calls, meetings and emails are never charged on top.

How do I switch accountants partway through a year?

You tell us to go ahead and we do the rest. We write to your current accountant for professional clearance and your records, complete your ID checks, and get authorised as your agent with HMRC and Companies House. Companies House ID verification is free where you need it, as is your first month.

What happens if HMRC writes to me or opens a check?

You send us the letter and we deal with it. Tax investigation cover is included free for every client, because we cover it ourselves rather than selling it as an add-on. Every HMRC investigation this practice has handled, it has won. Bring it to us early and there is more we can do.

Will I have to change accounting software?

No. We work with the records you already keep, including spreadsheets and paper. If you want to move to Xero we will migrate you free of charge, but that is your call and it is never a condition of us preparing your accounts.

When should I send my records for year-end accounts?

As soon as your year end passes, and ideally we are seeing the bookkeeping through the year anyway. Early preparation is what gives you time to decide on salary and dividends before the corporation tax is due. Leaving it until the filing month removes every option you had.

Do you prepare accounts for sole traders and partnerships too?

Yes. Sole trader and partnership accounts are prepared on the same fixed monthly basis as limited company work, with the self assessment return included. We do not take on one-off self assessment or capital gains work, so this suits people who want the year looked after rather than a return typed up each January.
